We are absolutely thrilled to share this exciting news with you, our valued cross stitch community. This autumn, RTO and its co-brand Collection D’Art invited us at HobbyDo Craft, together with a wonderful group of cross stitch FlossTubers, to take part in the launch of a brand-new Collection D’Art counted cross stitch kits collection.

Earlier, we shared a detailed announcement and overview of this new counted cross stitch release on our blog, where we introduced the designs, formats, and key features of the collection.

It was truly a pleasure and an honour to collaborate with these internationally recognised needlework brands and an absolute joy to meet new FlossTubers and the talented, passionate stitchers behind the scenes. Connecting with these lovely ladies, all united by their love of cross stitching, was an inspiring experience. Their enthusiasm, openness, and genuine passion for the craft are so contagious that you can’t help but want to pick up your next stitching project straight away.

It’s wonderful to see people who truly live their hobbies and let them shine, sparkle, and bring happiness not only to themselves but to everyone around them. For some, cross stitching is not just a hobby, but an important part of their work and daily life. Isn’t it amazing how a creative craft like cross stitch can fill life with energy, purpose, and joy?

As part of this project, these talented cross stitchers created fantastic overviews of the new Collection D’Art counted cross stitch kits on their FlossTube channels. We’ve already received incredibly positive feedback from stitchers all around the world.

Could you introduce yourself?

My name is Lindsi, and my YouTube channel is Blushing Pink Stitches. I live in Colchester in the UK and I’ve been stitching since I was 16 years old.

What inspires your stitching style or the projects you choose? When I was 16 years old, I came across a cross-stitch book in my local library, and I had just finished my GCSE exams so I had a longer holiday break, and so I decided to buy the materials and give it a go. I remember I had the finished piece framed and gave it to my mum as a present and she still has it. This kick started a lifetime of love for the craft. I started my FlossTube channel in January 2022 after watching so many inspiring stitchers share what they were doing. I was so inspired I wanted to do the same, in the hopes that I would reach like-minded people and spark the same passion I had for cross stitch in others. One of the main things that inspires the projects I choose is watching other stitchers share pieces that they are working on - seeing that piece come to life and its beauty makes me want to stitch it too. I am most inspired by cross stitch kits and full coverage projects because I just love the level of detail that you see in one of these pieces, both as they are being stitched and when they are finished.

Is there something you love about Collection D’Art or this new counted cross stitch kits’ release in particular? The things I love most about the new releases from Collection D’Art are the modern, fun and fresh designs that are available, and also the way that the kits are manageable and short term achievable because they are not too large, but you still don’t lose that wonderful detail that is so important to me.

LAURA

Could you introduce yourself?

My name is Laura. I am from Finland, but have lived in Melbourne, Australia, for quite a few years now. I have been stitching on and off since I was a teenager, but more actively the last 10–15 years.

How did you get into cross stitching and FlossTube?

My mum was always into many different kinds of handcrafts (mostly knitting and quilting) and I remember seeing cross stitch projects in some of her craft magazines. I think we even ordered a couple of kits! It just felt like such a fun hobby.

I certainly didn’t think I would ever have a FlossTube channel, but I really wanted to connect with other stitchers. I also stitch quite a different style of projects compared to most FlossTubers, so I thought it would be fun to introduce new brands and designers to other stitchers.

What inspires your stitching style or the projects you choose?

I love backstitching! And lovely colours. I absolutely adore projects with smooth colour changes, even though that usually means using a lot of blends. I really enjoy stitching projects that make me smile and laugh (especially wonky animals) or remind me of Finland (snowy landscapes and berries).

It is easy to guess from my FlossTube name that I do love stitching birds. Oddly enough I am not so keen on birds in real life (they can be a bit scary), but they are so fun to cross stitch.

And a little confession: I have way too many chicken patterns waiting to be stitched!

Is there something you love about Collection D’Art or this new counted cross stitch kits’ release in particular?

I like it that these kits are suitable for many different level stitchers, from beginner to advanced. Often patterns like landscapes can be very large and overwhelming to stitch, but in this release the landscapes are so beautiful and with many details but still not difficult to stitch. I (of course) love all the funny animals too!!! The horses especially have such funny facial expressions.

Could you introduce yourself? I'm Charly, and my channel is Stitches with Charly Feathers. I live in West Cornwall, UK & and I've been stitching for almost 5 years since my second daughter was born.

How did you get into cross stitching and FlossTube?

Before I cross stitched, I was a prolific knitter and dabbled in embroidery every so often. I was scrolling Instagram and saw the original Dreaming Girl pattern by Barbara Ana, and it called me to stitch it. Ever since then I've been obsessed with cross stitch!I used to have a knitting YouTube channel, and over time, I decided to start recording again and talk about my cross-stitch projects.

What inspires your stitching style or the projects you choose?

Nature and whimsical art are what constantly inspire me, looking for that little bit of magic and joyful moments in every day. For this reason, I love stitching landscapes and anything whimsical or magical.I love stitching anything from full coverage to tiny pillows. I love designs that use blended threads for that delicate, easy flow of colors. I also love backstitch as it brings a design to life.

Is there something you love about Collection D’Art or this new counted cross stitch kits’ release in particular?

Collection D’Art is such a special company with a long and well-respected eye for cross stitch design through tapestry kits. The new collection offers something for everyone making cross stitch accessible and beginner friendly.
